Vintage 1931 Austin could sell for 25k

With its original chassis, body, dashboard and instruments, this historic auto will auction at H&H

Here's another update on H&H's first of eight 2010 auctions, taking place at the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton, Derbyshire.

Alongside notable consignments including the Porsche 1973 Carrera RS 2.7, regarded by many as the best-ever 911, a more vintage offering is the 1931 Austin Seven EA Sports 'Ulster'.

A genuine 'Ulster', as recorded in the surviving Austin factory ledgers at Gaydon, this particular example was supplied new by Frank Hallam Ltd of Birmingham.

The diminutive sportscar's post World War Two ownership history is known, while an accompanying black and white photo suggests that it might have been resident (or holidayed) in Somerset during the 1930s.

Understood to retain its original chassis, body, dashboard, instruments and registration number, "OV 9" boasts a Tim Myall (of Pigsty Engineering) tuned replacement engine, and a correct type close-ratio gearbox.

The historic motor will drive under the hammer with an estimate value of 22,000-25,000.

As we previously reported, another vintage delight in the sale will be a 1959 Jaguar XK150 S 3.4 Open Top Sports model. And, what is according to somethe best looking and sweetest driving Ferrari of its generation - the1971 Dino 246GT - will also feature.
