The trademark shoes were specially made forBolt after the Beijing Olympics and will be sold alongside a signed photo of the record-smashing athlete. They were previouslyon display at the Leeds City Museum, before the decision was made to sell in order to raise funds for Yorkshire Cancer Research, Jamaica Cancer Society and The Salvation Army International. The auction hopes to beat the 2,000 achieved by a pair of signed shoes that were donated by Bolt to footballer Didier Drogba at another charity auction in 2010. They can expect strong results in the sale, with values boosted by the start of the 2012 London Olympics on July 27, where Bolt hopes to defend thethree gold medals he set in Beijing four years ago. Bidders will also have the chance to own a track spike from British triple jumper Jonathan Edwards at a July 24 Olympic auction, which hewore during his gold medal winningperformance at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Unsigned, they will be offered with a 1,500-2,000 estimate. Paul Fraser Collectibles has a signed photograph of Usain Bolt, which is currently on offer at a fantastic price.
