That's Life... Magazine signed by all three Apollo 11 crewmen could bring $7,500

A 1969 "Special Edition" of Life Magazine featuring astronaut Buzz Aldrin is up for sale in Beverly Hills

A United States flag flown to the Moon aboard Apollo 17 is one of the highlights in Ira & Larry Goldberg's upcoming Stamp, Space and Manuscript Auction on November 6.

But the auction will also offer collectors a chance to acquire a memento of the impact the Moon landings had back on Earth...

Among the sale's highlights is a 1969 "Special Edition" of Life Magazine, bearing the famous image of Apollo 11's Buzz Aldrin on the lunar surface. The first man on the Moon, Neil Armstrong, is reflected in his helmet visor.

Beside the iconic image are the boldly signed autographs of each of the Apollo 11 crewman, including Command Module Pilot Michael Collins, in blue ink.

As the lot notes correctly state, "it's rare to find original autographs on this magazine cover" - a factor which will undoubtedly contribute to itshammer value. Online bidding is also available.

The cover is professionally matted, framed to 15.5 x 19 inches and will appear in Ira & Larry Goldberg's Beverly Hills sale estimated at $5,000-7,500.

Life magazine was devoted to showcasing its era's best photojournalism. Other famous subjects to grace its pages included President John F Kennedy, the Vietnam War and Hollywood couple Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.

This isn't the first time that an iconic magazine signed by Neil Armstrong has appeared on the markets. Paul Fraser Collectibles had the pleasure of selling an original July 25, 1969 edition of Time Magazine signed by Neil Armstrong earlier this year.
