Star Wars Stormtrooper costume parts to auction at Christie's London

The Stormtrooper costume parts from the Star Wars trilogy could make $50,000

A collection of Stormtrooper costume components used throughout the original Star Wars series is estimated to bring 20,000-30,000 ($33,518-50,227) at Christie's London on June 20.

The lot consists of a selection of vacuum-formed plastic parts, with the majority thought to have been part of a Sandtrooper costume from A New Hope (1977).

The record for a piece of Star Wars memorabilia was set in 2011, when a camera used in the filming of the first movie sold for $625,000 at Profiles in History.

Atie fighter model that sold for $402,500 back in 2008 had previously held the record.

A pair of Persol sunglasses worn by Steve McQueen during the 1970s are valued at 15,000-25,000 ($25,065-41,775).

Following McQueen's death in 1980, US competition surfer Rusty Miller picked upthe glasses from Hollywood memorabilia dealers Jim and Danny Brucker.

In 2006, the Persol sunglasses worn by McQueen in the Thomas Crowne Affair made $70,200 at Bonhams Los Angeles.

His auction record remains $2.3m,set for a Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso at Christie's in 2007.
