Sotheby's exhibition 'most valuable' ever in Russia

Sotheby's held its most valuable exhibition in Russia ahead of November sales

Sotheby's has announced that its art exhibition in Moscow on October 23-24 was the most valuable it has ever held in Russia.

Picasso Tete d'Femme Picasso's Tete d'Femme will be sold on November 6 in New York

The two-day showcasewas an attempt to attract Russia's wealthy art buyers, displaying works from Pablo Picasso and Joan Miro. The art on view was valued at more than $140m.

Russia has now joined the roster of major art buying capitals around the world in which Sotheby's previews major paintings for the convenience of its most wealthy clients. The Picasso and Miro masterpieces will be sold on November 6 in New York.

A further sale of works by Russian artists will be held on November 25 in London.
