Smitty’s Juke Box Museum
Smitty’s Juke Box Museum in Pharr, Texas, houses a large collection of jukeboxes. For the past 30 years, the jukeboxes in the display have been repaired and amassed by Dennis and Leo Schmidt.
There are more than 60 jukeboxes on display ranging from 1926 to the present day.
Highlights of the collection include the patented wind-up Edison Victrola and the first Wurlitzer, the 1934 Model P10.
Other notable items include one of only 150 known 1942 Wurlitzer “950 Satyr” Bubblers and the first juke box to automatically change discs: the 1929 Electra Muse.
Other makes in the museum include Rockola, AMI and Seeburg.
The museum is open between 09:30 and 16:00 Monday to Friday and is located in one the city’s oldest buildings.
