Sir Bobby Robson scores $239,151 auction victory for cancer charities
The legendary international manager's foundation's sale included a Jose Mourinho award among its lots
It has been more than two years since Sir Robert William"Bobby"Robson died of cancer, aged 76. Yet the veritable legend of English and international football recently enjoyed posthumous success when a charity auction in his name raised 150,000 ($239,151) for two cancer charities.
Highlights of Sir Bobby's Breakthrough Auction included Jose Mourinho's FIFA Ballon D'Or World Coach of the Year Award Trophy sold for 26,000.

It starred among 146 lots, with all raised funds going to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and Breakthrough Breast Cancer in memory of both the iconic footballer and manager and breast cancer campaigner Sally Balch.
The sale was devised by Gina Long of Suffolk, with support from local newspaper the East Anglian Times. All lots sold online, donated by a number of clubs in honour of Sir Bobby.
This sale isn't the first time that Real Madrid manager Mourinho - by some players and coaches as the best evercoachinfootball - has dazzled on the auction block.
In 2010, Bonhams auctioned one of two winner's medals thrown by Mourinho into the excited crowds at Chelsea FC's Stamford Bridge ground, following the team's 3-0 victory over Manchester United in the 2005-6 Premier League Final.
It sold for 16,800.
Not surprisingly, considering its mass appeal, football memorabilia items are among the most globally sought after collectibles around.
