Signed Sgt Pepper sleeve comes to Tracks Auction at $240,000

The fully signed sleeve of the Beatles' Sgt Pepper album joins John's guitar

A fully signed sleeve from the Beatles' landmark 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is set to see big bids at Tracks Auction on November 23 in London.

The album is signed by all four Beatles, which is rare following the release of Help! in 1965, after which the band gave up touring to focus on studio work and were rarely seen togetherin public.

The sleeve, which is missing its disk, is valued at 100,000-150,000 ($159,937-239,940).

It is believed to have been signed during the filming of Magical Mystery Tour in September 1967, just a few months after Sgt Pepper was released on June 1. The band have all signed their full names in red ballpoint pen, with Ringo adding "love" next to his.

The finest signed copy of the album holds the record for a Beatles-signed LP at $290,500. There are only around 125 fully signed albums from the band known to exist, with Sgt Pepper particularly rare.

Another copy of the album, complete with the original disc but lacking George Harrison's signature, is valued at 15,000-20,000 ($23,990-31,987) in the sale.

Also selling is an autographed copy of Please Please Me, the band's first album and the most common with all four signatures. With the autographs dedicated to "Jennifer", it is expected to see 10,000-12,000 ($15,993-19,192).

Also featuringis a poem written by Sir Paul McCartney in the 1980s to comic Spike Milligan, who was friends with the Beatles and would often receive visits from McCartney. Signed "With love Paul (Yesterday's Man)", it is valued at 10,000-15,000 ($15,993-23,990).
