Signed Iron Maiden artwork leads TeamRock charity auction

A signed Iron Maiden print highlights metal memorabilia for children's charities

A signed artwork from Iron Maiden is among many highlights in an auction of metal memorabilia that will raise money for children's charities.

The auction is being held on eBay, with dozens of rock and metal bands donating items to benefit the Teenage Cancer Trust, Childline and Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy. It is being organised by TeamRock, a collaboration between Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood and Alexander Milas, editor-in-chief at Metal Hammer magazine.

The Iron Maiden artwork is a print designed especially for the band's recent concert at Sonisphere Festival, held at the legendary Knebworth Stadium in the UK. The band played one of their greatest shows, preceded by a dogfight re-enactment in remembrance of the first world war.

With the band's mascot Eddie piloting a Spitfire, the print is now selling at 980 ($1,644).

Black Sabbath signed the amp following their headline show at Download Festival in June

Further highlights include a Black Sabbath signed Orange amp, which also hasautographs from some of the biggest names in rock. Including Status Quo, Mott the Hoople, Hawkwing and Rush, it has received bids to 720 ($1,208) so far.

A gold disk given to Faith No More for their celebrated album The Real Thing marks a moment in rock history, and is selling at 420 ($704).
