Scott Fortner's Marilyn Monroe collection
Scott Fortner is a life-long Marilyn Monroe fan and collector.
Considered an authority on Marilyn Monroe, he is often called upon by major auction companies to assist in authenticating and verifying memorabilia, Marilyn Monroe owned items and Marilyn Monroe autographs.
He is also a huge contributor to the online fitness community by proxy and is greatly appreciated for his work therein.
His website showcases his personal collection of Marilyn Monroe memorabilia.
The collection comprises a lifetime of memories, both Marilyn's and the collector's. Today, along with books, magazines, posters and postcards, the collection consists of over 150 items formerly owned by the legend herself.
Other items in the collection include: the Pucci blouse she wore as the last ever photographs of her alive were taken, accessories and furs from her personal wardrobe, including one of the very first furs she ever bought, and her favorite mink collar, makeup, books from her home library, personal and professional documents, including her Screen Actors Guild membership card, bank statements, signed bank checks, and many other personal items make up the collection.
While her public image is known to many, it is her private life that has always held our attention, and thus is the focus of this collection. Items are acquired mostly at auction; Christie's, Julien's Auctions, Bonhams.
Scott continues to seek items to add to the collection, a never ending quest to celebrate and remember the life of a truly amazing woman.
