The Scooby Doo Where Are You board game is a vintage board game based on the popular animated series Scooby Doo.
‘Scooby Doo! Where Are You?’ was an animated Saturday morning television show that started life in the United States on CBS in 1969. The show and characters have since spawned a franchise including numerous television shows, comic books, feature films and a wealth of merchandise (including several board games).
The first of these was ‘Scooby Doo! Where Are You?’, published by Milton Bradley in 1973. There have subsequently been more than 40 different games based on the characters, including themed versions of classic games such as Monopoly and Cluedo.

The game is a race-style game for 2 – 4 players, which involves moving round a board in turns based on a spinner. The game starts in the team’s van, the Mystery Machine, and takes players through a cave into a haunted castle. Players must land on certain squares by exact count to progress, avoiding traps, and following instructions on cards until they follow Scoody Doo and find the castle’s hidden treasure.
The game features relatively few components – four counters (yellow, green, red and blue), a spinner marked 1 – 6 and a set of instruction cards.
