Royal Copley china dates to between 1939 and 1960. It was produced by the Spaulding China Company of Sebring, Ohio between those years.

Spaulding China Company

The firm was originally owned by Irving Miller, Morris Feinberg and George Stanford and based in New York City, US.

The company was born of a quest to find pottery with which to manufacture ceramic cases for clocks.

Manufacturing restrictions in World War II made the building of clocks via metal work unfeasible. But it was nevertheless able to produce pottery lead by Morris Feinberg.

The company’s most recent owner was Holiday Designs, Inc..

Collectibility

Among the most collectible specimens of Royal Copley china are figural planters (used to hold plants in garden arrangements) and small figurines, often with art deco designs.
