Anticipation is growing for RM Auctions' upcoming sale of the world-renowned Dingman Collection.

The auction, set to take place in Hampton, New Hampshire on June 9 – 10, will feature around 50 classic cars and over 1,400 vintage signs from the esteemed collection of former Ford Motor Company director Michael Dingman.

“Michael Dingman is one of the most dedicated and passionate collectors I’ve ever known,” said Mike Fairbairn, Director and Co-founder of RM Auctions. “In addition, his incredibly high standards have resulted in the finest Ford restorations ever seen!”

The collection will offer a wealth of perfectly-restored Fords, from a 1936 Ford Glaser Cabriolet to a 2005 Ford GT.

Headlining the sale will be a 1936 Ford Model 48 Cabriolet featuring coachwork by the German company Gläser. The car was victorious in its (newly created) class at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, and looks certain to attract attention from major collectors around the world.

The Cabriolet will be joined by superbly-restored examples including a series of Ford Super Deluxe Station wagons dating from the late 1930s onwards and the first 2005 Ford GT ever produced, which was gifted to Dingman in return for his 21 years of service to the company.

“The collection is wonderfully representative of Ford’s history, spanning many years of automotive production, complemented by stunning signage that illuminated dealerships, advertised automotive products and enticed you to stop at one gas station over another,” said Fairbairn.

“It reflects Mr. Dingman’s eye for exceptional quality and incredible drive for perfection, with each lot presented in immaculate condition, representing the very finest of its category.”

The sale will also feature a highly limited AC Cobra, one of a handful hand-built for top Ford Motor Executives, and a pair of Porches in the form of a 1992 Porsche 911 Cabriolet and a 1989 Porsche 911 Speedster.
