Reichstag Nazi tapestry could command $25,000+ in militaria auction

A tapestry that hung in the Reichstag depicts the Nazi claim to the Carolingian Empire

An 11-foot Nazi tapestry that hung in the Reichstag during the second world war, and was later used in the 1967 movie The Dirty Dozen, will auction onlineat Mohawk Arms on June 13-14.

The Reichstag National Culture Gobelin tapestry is covered in shields, eagles and swastikas, and supposedly shows the Third Reich's claim as the legitimate heir to the Carolingian Empire. It's valued at a minimum of $25,000.

The Carolingian Empire is the name given to the 88-year rule of the Carolingian dynasty over much of Europe circa AD 800. It was divided in AD 843, giving way to the kingdom of France and kingdom of Germany.
