Rare Beatles photographs expected at $30,000 in UK auction

A series of rare Beatles photographs from the famed Shea Stadium concert were taken by an amateur

A collection of rare photographs of the Beatles, taken during their 1965 concert at New York's Shea Stadium, are set to sell as part of a UK auction on March 22.

The collection of 61 images, estimated at 15,000-20,000 ($22,574-$30,098), were captured by amateur snapper Marc Weinstein, who was one of only two photographers granted access to the stage area, after fooling security. The other photographer ran out of film, so these are some of the only surviving images from the record-breaking sell-out show.

The Shea Stadium concert was the first date of the Beatles' 1965 tour of theUS and broke all records for audience attendance, as Beatlemania reached fever pitch.

Paul Fraser Collectibles has an impressive selection of Beatles memorabilia for sale, including some brilliant signed photographs and a signed LP cover of A Hard Day's Night.
