strikethrough textRandall milk glass is a type of opaque glass that was produced by the American glass manufacturer Randall.

History & Description

Randall was a glass manufacturing company based in America during the twentieth century which solely produced milk glass products.
Milk glass is either a translucent or opaque milky white colour glass that has been blown or pressed into a wide range of shapes and forms.
Milk glass was first produced in the sixteenth century in Venice yet the term milk glass is relatively new. During the nineteenth century, glass makers coined this type of milky white, opaque glass as opal glass. The white colour is due to the addition of an opacifer such as bone ash or tin dioxide during the glass making process.

Guide for collectors

Recently, milk glass products have become extremely collectible items. However, milk glass products produced by Randall are some of the least expensive products in this market.
In addition, instances of Randall milk glass sold through national auctioneers are very uncommon. Instead, collectors are much more likely to purchase Randall milk glass products from eBay or other internet shopping sites, such as Etsy, Shop Wiki, The Find and eCrater UK.
pieces are typically sold within a group of other similar items as individual Randall milk glass items are rarely sold on their own.
On March 31st 2012, a selection of twenty-two vintage milk glass items, including two Randall vases, was sold on eBay for $61.01.
On April 6th 2012, a selection of eighteen vintage milk glass items, including several Randall vases, was sold on eBay for $48.
