'Quintessentially English...' $450,000 Aston Martin stars in classic car sale

If you want to play out your dreams of being James Bond, a DB5 in this RM auction will interest you...

Is there anything better than riding around in a stylish, 1964 Aston Martin on a British summer's day?

If you are the sort of person who thinks there is not, then RM's Quintessentially English themed classic car sale on Thursday, June 21, is where you need to be.

There cannot be many people who have not dreamt about owninga 1960s Aston Martin DB5, the car made world famous by the James Bond films. Well, for $350,000-450,000, you could be driving the very same type.

If ever there was a classic car worth owning, the Aston Martin DB5 is it

These cars will maintain their value, so there is no danger of depreciation. And of course, the privilege of driving such a brilliant vehicle is worth that price alone.

The fantastic range of vehicles being offered up also includes Jaguars, Rolls-Royces and, of course, the premier British motors, Bentleys.

This is a sale that will appeal to investors and enthusiasts everywhere, as British cars are traditionally well manufactured and made to a high quality. The classic car market has shown few signs of being affected by the economic crisis, remaining strong.

In gold, rather than silver or white, this Rolls-Royce looks even more stunning

This is why valuable cars, such as a 1955 Bentley R-Type Continental Fastback, can still reach prices as high as $700,000.

If you are more of a Rolls-Royce fan, then fear not, as you could buy the brilliant Silver Cloud II - in gold - for a mere $390,000-$450,000. The Silver Cloud range, which started production in 1955, is well known for its elegant bodywork and sophistication.

The car sold well in America during the 1960s, and led to the introduction of the Silver Cloud III in 1962. However, the one up for auction on June 21 is one of just 107 Mulliner-bodied Silver Clouds produced, which makes it an even more enticing prospect.
