Foundation and ownership
According to its website, the company was founded as Falls Church Antique Company in 1987, by owner and Chairman Paul Quinn. In 1995, Quinn, along with his son David, founded the Auction House of Falls Church.
In 2004, the business was destroyed by fire. Through David Quinn’s leadership, the company recovered and re-emerged as Quinn’s Auction Galleries. The company also acquired Waverly Auctions LLC - a rare book business - the same year.

There are no minimum consignment costs and free, professional consultations on consignments are available to clients. Quinn’s also provide appraisals and estate evaluation services.
Quinn's holds approximately five fine art and antique auctions a year, a monthly rare book, map and autograph sale between September and June, as well as weekly furniture auctions.
In December 2010, a map of Virginia dating from 1827 sold in a Quinn’s auction for $23,400. It was found in a box of assorted books the owner had bought for $10, and had an estimate of $2,500-4,000.
