'Please, Please give it to me...' Rare double-signed Beatles single heads auction

The sale will also offer John Lennon's cap and even a piece of the legendary Cavern Club's stage

Another excellent opportunity for Beatles fans has come up. A signed copy of their famous hit single Please Please Me is expected to sell at a Liverpool auction over the weekend (August 27).

The auction is taking place at the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts and the seven-inch record is signed by every one of the Fab Four: Lennon, McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo.

Memorabilia items signed by all four members of the Beatles are always highly coveted, such as this in-flight magazinewhich is for sale elsewhere on the markets.

In this case, the very rare copy of the record is estimated at 7,000 to 8,000 (up to $13,200) - which seems a little modestand we reckon itis likely to go for more.

There are a number of other quite interesting items in the sale, too. In particular, a cap belonging to John Lennon is expected tobring up to 4,000 - a coincidence as his cowboy hat recently sold.

There's even a piece of the Cavern Club stage which is estimated to reach up to 1,800.

Beatles watchers will be aware that The Fame Bureau auction is taking place today, and some highly appealing pieces of Beatles memorabilia are going under the hammer as we speak.

This includes four black and white ceramic tiles reading "A, B, E and Y from the Abbey Road sign pictured on the back cover of the Beatles album of the same name.

Watch this space for the results of that sale.
