Pierre et Gilles collectibles are works of art by French photographer Pierre Commoy and French artist Gilles Blanchard. The two, who are also romantically linked, are famed for their highly stylised, often erotic, depictions of celebrities, which combine photographic and painting elements and feature considerable post-editing.
The works often include unusual costumes and settings.
Pierre Commoy (born 1950) and Gilles Blanchard (born 1953) met in 1976, began living together shortly afterwards and produced their first pieces as a duo in 1977.
They came to prominence for their depictions of Andy Warhol, Iggy Pop and Mick Jagger in French magazine Façade.
They are best known for their photographs of musicians, including Kylie Minogue and Madonna.
