Petrus Pomerol 1998
Petrus Pomerol 1998 is a vintage merlot wine produced by Chateau Petrus Pomerol. The wine
The Petrus Pomerol 1998 is a deep red colour and is said to have a highly concentred nose with notes of plum, black truffle, berries and vanilla. It releases aromas of mocha when swirled.
It is believed that this wine was a favourite at the White House during the Kennedy years.
This wine is said to be unique in that the grapes used to produce it are harvested early in their development instead of being grown to their fullest potential. The grapes were then left to mature in a slow process to achieve the best possible flavours.
This wine is expected to reach its full maturity after 2012.
Petrus Pomerol 1998 can be bought online for $2,199.
Chateau Petrus Pomerol

Chateau Petrus Pomerol won a gold medal at the Paris Exhibition in 1878. This was the first wine from Pomerol to gain this distinction.
