Patek Philippe Ref. 3939 to auction for $800,0000 in HK

A Patek Philippe Ref. 3939 with a pink gold dial is the lead lot at Antiquorum

A Patek Philippe Tourbillon Minute Repeater (Ref. 3939) is to star in Antiquorum Auctioneer's October 26 sale in Hong Kong.

The watch marks the first time that a personalised example of Ref. 3939 has appeared at auction, featuring a specialbrown dial with red numerals made in pink gold. Thought to be unique, it is expected to sell for up to $800,000.

This example was originally sold by Patek Philippe on January 20, 2013, and retains its fitted box, additional case back and a certificate of origin.

Following in the sale will be a skeletonised example of the Patek Phillipe Ref. 5014P, a platinum minute repeater with a perpetual retrograde calendar. It holds an identical estimate to Ref. 3939.

Described as "extremely fine, rare and important", it features a perpetual calendar with retrograde date, moon phases, leap year indication and a platinum buckle.

The auction is dominated by Patek Philippe, though two complicated watches from Jaeger-LeCoultre will make their auction debut.

The Master Grande Tradition, Grande Complication is a limited edition piece, with just 75 ever made. An 18k white gold watch, it sports a flying tourbillon, sky chart, 24-hour indication, and is expected to sell for $154,746-219,223.

The Master Grande Tourbillon Continents in pink gold, ref Q1652422, is one of just 20 made. Oversized, self winding and water resistant, it is crafted from 18k pink gold with a champlev enamel dial. It will sell with a $167,641-232,118 estimate.
