An original Mickey Mouse strip will star as part of the Charles L Howard Collection of Early Comic Art and Original Political Illustration at a Florida auction on August 23.

Original signed Mickey Mouse stripThe strip is made out to Geo T Maxwell, a noted US cartoonist

Charles L Howard's collection comprises nearly 800 pre-second world war original illustrations by over 500 artists, and will be offered by the auction house over several sessions. Much of the political illustrations collectionwas exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1939 and a majority of the original comic strips were displayed at various educational institutions before 1947.

The four panelMickey Mouse comic strip dates to 1934 and has been hand signed by Walt Disney as well as dedicated to Geo T Maxwell, a noted American cartoonist. Featuring both Mickey and Minnie Mouse dressed as a cowboy and cowgirl while dealing with a Mexican bandito namedDon Jollio, the strip will sell for $6,000-9,000 and is in remarkable condition given its age.

Paul Fraser Collectibles has a great selection of Walt Disney memorabilia, including a signed drawing of Mickey Mouse, which is available at a fantastic price.

The highest bids expected in the sale will go to a very early and scarce Tarzan Sunday comic strip, which was created in 1937. Taken from the Sinister Allies episode and enhanced by an inscription of theNew York address of the strip's artist Burne Hogarth,as well as that of the United Feature Syndicated Daily News building, it will sell with a $10,000-15,000 estimate.

We currently have a fantastic selection of comic book and illustration art available. This superb original drawing was created by Winnie the Pooh illustrator EH Shepard for the satirical magazine Punch.
