'One of a kind' Chinese Ferrari goes to auction

Only one 599 GTB Fiorano like this will ever be made, and its going under the hammer in November

A limited edition Ferrari would undoubtedly be a 'holy grail' among collectors - but how about a one-of-a-kind Ferrari?

The renowned Italian carmaker has joined the legion of high-level luxury brands eager to break into the growing Chinese economy.

Only 12 examples of the special edition 599 GTB Fiorano, the "599 China Limited Edition", will be released, available to the Chinese market.

And, of these 12, one is the most unique of all. It features a distinct bodywork design by the Chinese artist Lu Hao, reports Luxist.

Hao has adorned the car's smooth bodywork with a Oriental faded green pearl pattern, apparently inspired bythe Ge Liln porcelain of the Song dynasty.

They each feature a number of home-grown touches, including a rev counter marked with ancient Chinese characters, a jade-green starter button, and even luggage decorated with the Silk Road which was originallytaken by Italian explorer Marco Polo across China.
