Olivetti Praxis 48 typewriters are collectible typewriters, designed in the 1960’s.


Olivetti was founded in Turin, Italy 1908 as a typewriter manufacturer.

It opened its first manufacturing facility overseas in 1930 and merged with typewriter manufacturer Underwood in 1963, after purchasing the company in 1959.

In recent years the company has become known for its computers and printers.

It is currently owned by Telecom Italia.

Olivetti Praxis 48 typewriters

The Olivetti Praxis 48 was an electrical typewriter designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1964. The Praxis 48 is among Sottass’s less celebrated typewriter designs for Olivetti.

He is perhaps best known for the Olivetti Valentine.

How much are Olivetti Praxis 48 typewriters worth?

A good condition example sold for $150 on eBay in October 2011.
