Old friends gather to celebrate The Beatles

A former Monkee and other Beatles friends and colleagues to appear at memorabilia and autograph convention

BeatExpo 2009is to be held inConnecticut, NewEngland - the US state'sfirst Beatles convention in 12 years.

The convention is set to include penny auctions and a marketplace, with memorabilia at all kinds of prices.

At least 50 vendors will be trading all kinds of collectibles, with many of interest to serious collectors, including autographs, boxed sets, books and original tickets, photos, magazines and posters.

Some of the special guests will be of interest to collectors as well, as many of them will be signing autographs.

Autograph collectors will be eager to meet the event's special guests - various people who contributed to the Beatles' music and legend.

Dennis Ferrante, John Lennon's recording engineer who worked with him in the 1970s, notably on the world-famous Imagine, will be appearing.

As will Sid Bernstein, the famous promoter who helped bring The Beatles to America.

Peter Tork of The Monkees, renowned keyboardist Greg Hawkes of the Cars, who playedwith Paul McCartney on his album Flowers in the Dirt, and legendary sitcom star and Beatles collector Butch Patrick, aka Eddie Munster, will also be there.

Other special guests are expected.

The tribute bands will include The Beatles Forever Band, Octopus's Garden and Tim Palmieri's The A-Z Beatles Songbook Show. The Beatles Forever Band is made up of former members of the legendary Hartford tribute band The Neatles.

The event takes place on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at the Holiday Inn Downtown Stamford, 700 E. Main Street in Stamford, Connecticut.

Tickets cost $15 advanceor $20 at the door, but those interested are advised to book in advance as it is likely to sell out given the popularity of the band.
