Officers' decorations double their estimates

Three 19th century pieces of officers' uniforms have sold at Bosley's

Bosley's held an auction of collectible militaria on Wednesday (March 3) this week.

Three shoulder belt plates were among the most successful pieces:

A 29th (Worcestershire) Regiment Officer s shoulder belt plate circa 1832-55 (est 600-800) sold for 1,900.

A 36th (Herefordshire) Regiment Officer s shoulder belt plate circa 1825-33 (est 600-800) brought 1,850.

Last, but not least, a Scottish. 3rd Foot Guards Georgian Officer s shoulder belt plate circa 1810-25 (est 800-1,000 - the type worn at Waterloo) achieved 2,000.

The sale took place in Buckinghamshire, UK.
