Former World Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali's sweat trunks.
American boxer, Muhammad Ali (1942- ) is three-time World Heavyweight Champion and is considered to be one of the greatest heavyweight champion boxers of all time. He was the first boxer to win the lineal heavyweight championship three times.
Nicknamed 'The Greatest' Ali was selected to light the ceremonial flame at the Summer Olympics in Atlanta in 1996.
This item of memorabilia is a pair of Ali's rubber sweat trunks. The trunks are mounted in a frame with a handwritten title card which reads:
"PRESENTED TO 'THE FOX' [PUBLIC HOUSE] IN 1984 BY MUHAMMAD ALI, A PAIR OF HIS FAVOURITE RUBBER SWEAT TRUNKS".
This framed garment, which is in excellent condition, measures 20"x24".
