The lifetime collection of Michael Banfield, featuring 1,000 lots spanning automotive history, is set to cross the block at Bonhams on June 13-14 in Kent, UK.

Mors Roi Des Belges The Roi Des Belges will win its new owner prestige on the London to Brighton Run

The collection features vintage cars, historic commercial vehicles and automobilia, with the lead lot a 1904 Mors 24/32HP Roi Des Belges estimated at 500,000-600,000 ($838,570-1m).

The Roi Des Belges is considered the pinnacle of veteran motors and saw a strong racing career in the early days of motoring. It was one of the first generation of Brighton Run cars making it highly attractive to collectors, with the race still a popular event today.

"Several of the cars in Michael's collection took part in prestigious events, received accolades, and were campaigned regularly; particularly interesting are the highly collectable pre-First World War models," commented Bonhams co-chairman Malcolm Barber.

The fascinating array of pre-war cars also features a 350,000-450,000 ($586,999-754,713) 1904 Clement Talbot Brougham. Talbot's were top quality vehicles in their day, with the Brougham body now restored to a high standard.

Also featuring in the sale is automobilia including a brilliant French trumpet horn from the turn of the century, estimated at 700-900 ($1,174-1,509), and a pair of "The Polkey" headlamps at 3,000-4,000 ($5,031-6,708).

Incorporating bicycles, a rare Penny Farthing with a 54-inch wheel will auction with a 1,000-1,500 estimate, while a poster advertising Clement Cycles et Automobiles in the style of Ferdinand Mifilez is valued at 1,200-1,400 ($2,012-2,348).
