Marilyn: The Lost Photos to sell as limited edition prints

Print sale of 'lost' photographs of Marilyn Monroe will follow an exhibition

Lost images of Marilyn Monroe that have been tracked down by art researchers will be sold as limited edition prints through Limited Runs.

Marilyn Monroe lost photographs For the price of little more than a print, those with a collecting mind could have a signed photo

The shots were taken by five different photographers, mainly during breaks in Monroe's hectic filming career. They were included in a travelling exhibition that toured Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York through July.

Many of the images were taken as Monroe visited the Canadian Rockies, filming Niagara and River of No Return. One even shows her taking time out to pose with a Mountie.

Photographers with lowly credentials struggled to get any time with Monroe. Lani Carlson worked as a sound engineer for Capitol Records, yet pretended he was on assignment from the Associate Press to get five minutes of her time.

His photos are included, with additional works by Mischa Pelz, Thomas Kaminski and Milton Greene that have been compiled over two and a half years, with prices for the prints ranging from $300 to $5,000.

Yet for little more than the cost of a limited edition framed print, collectors can buy a signed photograph of Marilyn Monroe on a period newspaper clipping - Marilyn gives it up for the troops!
