Luxury watch sees Jaeger-LeCoultre and Aston Martin join forces

The new AMVOX5 World Chronograph was made with aeronautical and medical sector technologies

Leading watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre and the carmaker Aston Martin have combined their expertise to produce thenew AMVOX timepiece.

It is the firstAMVOXwatch to combine the chronograph function with a world time clock, and celebrates Aston Martin's recent success on the Le Mans 24 Hours circuit.

On April 11, 2010, Aston Martin Racing's009 LMP1 car defied the circuit's famous Mistral 1.800 metre (1.11846 mile) straight,winningthe team's second successive podium result this year.

A splendid piece of mechanics, the AMVOX5 is driven by Jaeger-LeCoultre's 752 calibre movementto ensureexceptional precision and resilience.

In accordance with pure horological tradition, the chronograph features a winding mechanism on lubricant-free ceramic ball bearings, a large variable inertia balance and laser-welded balance spring for optimal reliability.

Itsmagnificent inner workings are contained within a case made of high-tech ceramic combined with titanium and 18 carat pink gold. In other words: aproper all-terrain wristwatch.

According to Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture,theAMVOX5's production relies on some of the same innovative techniques and processes which are used in the aeronautical and medical sectors.

The AMVOX5 World Chronograph will only be made in a limited series - 300 with a ceramic and titanium case, and 200 with a ceramic and 18 carat pink gold case - and is therefore highly collectible.
