Lots Road Auctions is an auction house based in Chelsea, London. Founded in 1979, it specializes in both contemporary and antique items for sale, covering areas such as furniture, paintings, carpets and textiles, needlework and decorative items.

Lots Road auctions between 500 and 600 lots at weekly sales every Sunday, with the contemporary and traditional furnishings and decorative items sale followed by the sale of antique furniture, paintings, carpets and works of art.

The company also conduct monthly specialist sales featuring fine antiques, continental furniture, lighting and mirrors, silver and vertu and fine carpets and rugs. In addition a sale dedicated to Russian art takes place three times per year.

Lots Road Auctions offers four days and one evening viewings per week, and a fully illustrated catalogue is available online each Thursday after 6:30 pm for each sale.

Services

The company offers free appraisals at its premises three days a week. In addition it provides a full written valuation service for the purposes of insurance and probate, and a full and partial house clearance service where unsalable and low value items are donated to various charities.

Notable sales

  • An oil-on-board by artist Arthur Merrick Bloomfield Boyd entitled 'Landscape - possibly Shoalville' sold in February 2011 for £28,000.
  • An antique North West Persia Serapi carpet, Circa 1880, sold in November 2010 for £9,500.
  • A 19th century French, kingwood, satinwood, marquetry and gilt bronze mounted centre table, circa 1880, sold in May 2010 for £5,400.
  • An original lithograph by Marc Chagall entitled 'Le Chevalet Fleuri’ (The flowering trestle) sold in March 2010 for £3,500.
