The Globe, A Geographical Game with Forty Engraved Maps, price Two Shillings, Rock and Co., circa 1830s, thirty-nine (of 40) engraved maps (lacking Abyssinia), some with latitude and longitude printed to lower margin, generally spotted and lightly toned, each card approximately 10 x 6.5cm (4 x 2.5ins), forty cards with geographical questions, one instruction card, and one key card, some light marks, each card approximately 6.5 x 9cm (2.5 x 3.5ins), contained in original patterned cardboard slipcase with printed label to upper side, rubbed and some wear. Extremely rare educational geographical card game, designed for children. Probably a second issue, without the J. Whatman watermark of 1827, and with the addition of latitude/longitude. (1)
