An archive of 9 scrap albums and visitors' books from the family of John Skipworth Gibbons of Boddington Manor, near Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, circa 1880-1940, including a scrap album of autographs, photographs, cuttings, sketches and watercolours, 6 pages with Bruce Bairnsfather watercolour sketches relating to amateur dramatics at Boddington Manor, 1911-12, contemporary half morocco, rubbed and soiled, oblong folio, the other albums including 4 visitors' books with numerous autographs of families including Gibbons, de Winton, Stanier, Pemberton, Stacey, Goodden, etc., plus occasional anecdotes, sketches, photographs, programmes, etc., plus a related commonplace book kept by Edith Gibbons in the 1890s, another kept by Violet Gibbons circa 1900-10 and a snapshot photo album from the turn of the century, various bindings and sizes, a total of 9 albums, plus 2 related printed items, an auction catalogue by the executors of J.S. Gibbons deceased, held by Bruton Knowles, Gloucester, June 1942, and Tales of the Boddington Oak by Violet Seeley (performed at Boddington Manor, June 1932), both original printed wrappers, 8vo John Skipworth Gibbons, a noted sporting squire, purchased Boddington Manor in 1880. In 1942, after his death the manor passed to his eldest daughter, Mrs Edith Stacey. (11)
