The items all come from the collection of renowned auctioneers and decorators Robert Kime and Piers von Westenholz.

They include William Morris textiles and furniture from AWN Pugin.

Also featuring will be a pair of early 19th century Japanned vases and covers, valued at 2,000-3,000, and three 20th century Uzbek susanis.

Christie's Gemma Sudlow, in charge of the sale, commented: "Following on from the popularity of property offered by these two tastemakers in the past, we were only too delighted to embark upon another fabulous project with Robert and Piers that is sure to bring the salerooms to life with colour this September".

The auction is expected to make 600,000 in all.
