The stylish straw hats were worn byKate at Prince William's inauguration as a Knight of the Garter and for the wedding of Olympic horse-riding hopeful, Harry Meade. The hats represent a more frugal time for the Duchess, who hired the hats from her local milliner. Sold complete with hire receipts, the hats are expected to bring 1,000-1,500 eachin the sale. However, with the Duchess penned as the new Jackie Kennedy, theymay well exceed expectations at the auction. It was thesame auction housewhich sold the infamous see-through net dress which Kate Middleton wore at the St Andrews fashion show for an impressive 78,000 in March 2011.Kate Middleton memorabilia is proving to be hit with royal collectors, especially if the item is related to the couple's wedding. PFC Auctions recently sold the first piece of cake from the ceremony for 1,917. See Paul Fraser Collectibles' complete range of royal memorabilia here, which includes this fantastic Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip signed photograph. Elsewhere in the sale, a white fedora owned and signed by Michael Jackson will see some of the strongest bids, with an estimate of 7,000-10,000. The hat was gifted by Jackson to Matthew Fiddes, who worked for the singer for 12 years.
