The sale was held by Air New Zealand to mark the 30th anniversary of its London to Los Angeles route, with all proceeds going to the UK disabilitycharity, Phab. A unique lightsaber signed by George Lucas provided one of the auction's biggest draws. The item was a high-end replica of the one used by Yoda in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. The official lightsaber was never actually made for the film, as Yoda's character was completely computer generated. Having been endorsed by Lucasfilm, the superbreplica made 870 ($1,364). George Lucas proved to be more popular than royalty in the sale, with a print of Kate Middleton selling for 801 ($1,256). The Sex Pistols style artwork, entitled God Save the Future Queen, was created by British artist Zoobs. The piece offered an unflattering view of the Duchess of Cambridge, which was formerly on display at the Opera Gallery in London. It was created prior to Middleton's marriage to Prince William. PFC Auctions recently sold the first piece of cake from Kate and Wills' historic wedding. Click here to see the full story.
