With the gavel set to fall on May 30, collectors have a mere two days to try and snare the items of their choosing.

Such choice items relating to the ex-Beatle are proving very popular indeed.

Lennon's stripy dressing gown has garnered eight bids, his jeans 14 bids and his jacket nine - none, however, has yet been substantial enough to meet the reserve price placed upon the item.

In 2008, the hand-painted drum used on the cover of the Beatles' 1967 release Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, sold for 710,300 ($1.1m), setting the world record for Beatles memorabilia at auction.
