The Nehru-style jacket was left behind by the legendary musician as hedeparted from his Tittenhurst Park home to move to America in 1971. It was then discovered by Apple Records' PA Jo Jo Johns, who was charged with clearing the house when Lennon had left.

The jacket has been consigned by Johns' friend Anthony Goddard, to whom she gifted the jacket as a birthday present.

"The jacket was given to me at one of my birthday parties in the early 1970s, Jo Jo was a good friend and she had acquired a lot of abandoned belonging from the band members," commented Goddard.

"Jo Jo did have John Lennon's Radford Mini, which was destroyed by her partner Jeremy Sumner in a motor accident. Jo Jo also had Lennon's round bath for a time."

More Beatles memorabilia is available at the annual Liverpool Beatles Auction on August 24, including Paul McCartney's front door from his childhood home.

The opportunity to buy the finest Beatles memorabilia is always open at Paul Fraser Collectibles, including this brilliant signed photograph of John Lennon taken in 1974.
