JK Rowling charm bracelet sells for $33,000 at Sotheby's London
Proceeds from the bespoke charm bracelet designed by JK Rowling will go to Lumos
A bespoke silver charm bracelet designed by JK Rowling made 20,000 ($32,778) at Sotheby's London on December 10.
The bracelet is set with gold and precious stones
The item features 12 charms, 11 of which are symbols drawn from the Harry Potter series. The 12th is the logo of Rowling's charity Lumos, which seeks to end the institutionalisation of children and will benefit from its sale.
The author commented before the sale: "The most precious charm of the lot is a little butterfly, which is the logo of Lumos, beaming with moonstones and amethysts - a symbol of transformation and liberations, of the beauty that can emerge from dark confinement".
It was produced by Scottish jeweller Hamilton & Inches.
We have this copy of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, signed by Daniel Radcliffe.
