The $62,500 price matched that achieved by another of the Grateful Dead frontman's guitars at Bonhams in May this year. The May auction was solely dedicated to the singer, whose loyal fans, known as "Deadheads", always ensure strong results for his memorabilia at auction. The guitar, dubbed Lucky Number 13, was only the 13th ever made by Alembic and is believed to have been used on Garcia's debut solo album. It was later giftedto Kingfish frontman Matthew Kelly, after Garcia starred as guest guitarist on his solo album. All proceeds from the guitar's sale are to go to the Amicus Foundation, which supports children and families in Bhutan and Thailand. Paul Fraser Collectibles has this autographed guitar from the Rolling Stones, a band whose legacy will undoubtedly outlive that of the Grateful Dead. Those looking to rekindle the spirit of the 60s won't want to miss our original psychedelic poster, which is currenlty available at a great price. The Garcia guitar was followed by a brilliant collection of Muppets drawings and ideas from Jim Henson. The nine sheets on offer were created by Henson in anticipation of a 1974 pitch meeting and featured the first appearance of the famous Miss Piggy, who at the time was named Piggy Lee. Complete with handwritten annotations from the legendary puppeteer, they sold for $35,000. Memorabilia from the books and TV shows we loved as children often make excellent investments, offering joy of ownership as well as profitable returns -should you ever wish to part with them. Paul Fraser Collectibles has a superb range of animation and illustration art on offer, including this charming autographed drawing of Winnie the Pooh.
