Jacobite memorabilia auction makes £500,000 in Edinburgh
A sale of Jacobite memorabilia that included a locket containing some of Bonnie Prince Charlie's hair has reached a sale total of almost £500,000 in Edinburgh.
The sale was devoted to the Jacobite risings, and marked the 300th anniversary of the 1715 rebellion.
A locket containing some of Bonnie Prince Charlie's hair went for £5250 at the sale while a rare 18th century Four Peers Ring managed £31,500.
A pocket watch that once once owned by Bonnie prince Charlie also sold for £31,500.
The sale was held at Lyon and Turnbull.
