Iron Maiden signed guitar makes $4,000 in TeamRock charity auction

Iron Maiden teamed up with the biggest names in rock, with a signed guitar topping the bill

A Fender guitar signed by all members of Iron Maiden has seen the highest bids in a charity auction organised by TeamRock.

TeamRock is an organisation formed by Iron Maiden's manager, Rod Smallwood, and Alexander Milas, editor-in-chief of Metal Hammer magazine, with profits from various fundraisers going to children's charities.

The Fender Stratocaster Special, complete with hard shell case, sold for 2,500 ($4,177) for the Nordoff Robbins musical therapy charity.

More Iron Maiden memorabilia included a signed print from the band's recent landmark gig at Sonisphere Festival, where Bruce Dickinson - a trained pilot - staged a dogfight re-enactment to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first world war.

With team mascot Eddie at the helm of a Spitfire fighter plane, the print made 2,050 ($3,420).
