Ian Lancaster Fleming was born on May 28th, 1908 and died on August 12th, 1964, and was a British author and journalist best known for penning the James Bond series, which has been declared as "the biggest-selling series of fictional books of all-time."

The Times listed Fleming as 14th on the list of "The 50 Greatest British Writers since 1945" in 2008.
