Heddon Crazy Crawler Lures are collectible fishing lures produced by The Heddon Company

Brief history and description

The Heddon Company was founded in 1902 by James Heddon, who was originally employed as a beekeeper but went on to create some of the most popular and well-known artificial fishing lures in the industry, however, he invented the first wooden artificial fishing lure sometime during the 1890s.

Not just limited to lures, the Heddon Company also went on to produce various reels, rods and other types of fishing gear as well, but it was Heddon's Crazy Crawler lure that went on to become one of his most famous fishing products.

The Heddon Crazy Crawler is a lure that "crawls" across the water and helps create a sequence of splashes in order to trick fish into thinking it is an injured bird. Some of the many series of Heddon's Crazy Crawler lures include the Crazy Crawler series 2100 (which was introduced in 1939 or 1940), the "Small" Crazy Crawler series 2120 (1941) and the "Musky" Crazy Crawler series 2150 (1940), to name a few.
