French composers mysterious signed letter

The French Romantic composer, Hector Berlioz (1803-1869), composed in the region of 50 songs during his life. Symphonie fantastique and Grande messe des morts (Requiem) are among his best known songs. He contributed greatly to modern orchestra with his Treatise on Instrumentation. On occasion, he acted as a conductor to over 1,000 musicians.

In addition to his musical talents, he was both an accomplished writer and a critic.

Autographed letter, signed 'Hector Berlioz'. One page, to an unidentified male correspondent.

In French, reads (translation): "Sir, if you are not too busy, I would very much like to talk to you about something very urgent. Would you be kind enough to allow me to see you this evening or to arrange a meeting for tomorrow. Your devoted, Hector Berlioz. I await your answer by porter."

Slightly worn and creased, remnants of previous mount to upper right corner. Otherwise in fine condition.
