Haunting Photographs of Nagasaki Atomic Bomb dropped

2015-07-06 13:40:00

24 haunting photographs of Nagasaki taken just 1 day after the atomic bomb dropped are to auction with Bonhams this week. Many of the photographs have never been seen before and were taken by Japanese military photographer Yosuke Yamahata. Taking these images probably cost Yamahata his life as he died aged just 48, from a cancer that it is very likely was caused by his exposure to radiation. The images are expected to fetch between £15,000 and £21,000, or approximately $2,000 to $35,
