The Harry Potter Polyjuice Potion Maker was a toy produced by Mattel in 2002, based on the popular series of Harry Potter films and children’s books.

The Harry Potter series of books by British author J.K Rowling has sold more than 450 million books in 67 languages worldwide, and produced the most successful film franchise of all time with the eight feature films based on the books grossing more than $7 billion since 2001.

In all, the series including book sales, feature films and the extensive range of merchandise is believed to be worth more than $15 billion.

The toy is a play-set which enables children to mix drinkable ‘potions’ using sachets of edible ingredients. The set features a series of plastic buckets, beakers and tubes, all of which add ingredients to a cauldron beneath a tap which adds water.

The ingredients each cause the potion to fizz, bubble or change colour in different combinations depending on which are added.

How much is a Harry Potter Polyjuice Potion Maker worth?

Although Harry Potter merchandise and toys are popular with collectors, they were mass produced in such large numbers that few will ever have value as a rare collectible.

Complete boxed sets of the toy in good condition can be found on sites such as eBay for around $10 - $15.
