Other Notes: This teapot and warmer represent the auspicious start of Hans Christen's career. Created in 1944 at the end of his apprenticeship, they comprise his "Journeyman's Piece." The fluid curves of the teapot rest on top of the delicately constructed lotus-flower shaped warmer, giving the impression that the teapot is floating. A unique feature of the teapot is that its spout is not raised from the body, but applied with a specifically alloyed solder designed to be a perfect color match for sterling silver.
