George Washington signed manuscript auction
This manuscript, signed by George Washington on the first of May 1751, just under 40 years before he would become President shows a plat drawing for 311 acres of land in Virginia. Washington carried out many surveys such as this after inheriting instruments and techniques from his father, and the last time a similar example was auctioned by Christie's, it sold for $40,000. This manuscript is expected to sell for $40-60,000 on the 19th at Christie's.
